WLIC attends MDA annual dinner
The West London Islamic Centre development and fundraising team were delighted to attend the Muslim Doctors Association’s flagship annual dinner event, held on Saturday 10th April at the prestigious Kensington Hilton Hotel.
The event, now in its 6th year attracted over 200 Muslim professionals from across the UK. Sponsors included the British Heart Foundation, Islamic Bank of Britain, MERCO and Lawrence Grant Chartered Accountants.
Amongst the guests speakers, which included Lord Nazir Ahmed, George Gal loway MP and Islam Channel presenter Rizwan Hussain – were WLIC’s very own Br. Tari q Usmani and Ibraaheem Khutan (WLIC Fundraising Committee). Both gave passionate presentations emphasising the achievements of the present centre, the educational and farsighted provisions of the new scheme and the vision for a new WLIC centre, in delivering services for all communities across West London and beyond for years to come Insha’Allah.
With a lively charity auction chaired by Islam Channel’s Rizwan Hussain, who frequently reminded the audience of the importance of sharing ones wealth for the sake of facilitating worship of Allah (swt), the total donations raised (including pledges) for the WLIC New Masjid appeal amounted to over £4,650.
WLIC is especially grateful to the brothers and sister of the Muslim Doctors Association, for their generosity and support.
