The West London Islamic Centre & Jamia Masjid hosted a special event on 2nd June, with a number of community and civic leadership in attendance. The chief guests were the Honourable Malaysian Minister Dato. Seri Jamil Khir bin Hj Baharom, Dato Ismee Ismail the CEO of Tabung Haji and Dato Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rehman, Senior Tabung Haji General Manager.
This most prestigious visit and occasion for the West London Islamic Centre saw the renowned Tabung Haji, Malaysian State Pilgrims Funding Board make a donation towards the WLIC redevelopment project. Tabung Haji is a unique investment board, that mobilises the savings of Malaysian nationals in Shariah compliant investment vehicles, thereby providing and faciliitating their pilgrimmage to Makkah, enabling thousands of Muslims to visit the Holy Land and fulfill their 5th pillar of Islam.
Other dignatories and guest speakers on the morning included the President of UKIM Mr Sarfraz Madni, the Secretary General of Muslim Council of Britain Dr Muhammed Abdul Bari, the Rt Hon Steve Pound MP, Rt Hon Virendra Sharma MP, Councillor Mr Jullian Bell and the Mayor of Ealing Mr Rajinder Mann.
The West London Islamic Centre & Jamia Masjid administration and fundraising committee gave their heartfelt thanks to Tabung Haji and all the visitors for their time, support and attendance.
