We are pleased to announce that with your support the West London Islamic Centre (WLIC) was able to raise over £200,000 for the redevelopment project charity dinner held on Saturday 13th December at Abbey Manor in Park Royal. We would like to extend a special thank you to the Better Community Business Network team for their support in arranging the event, to our guest speakers and to all those who made the effort to attend and made contributions. May Allah (swt) accept it from you and grant you much prosperity in this life and the Hereafter, Ameen.
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said ''Whosoever helps build a house (Masjid) for the pleasure of Allah, whether it be small or large, Allah builds for him a house in Paradise.' [Tirmidhi].
WLIC has spent the last 25 years establishing its central role within the local and regional community in West London. In order to accommodate the growing number of worshippers and facilities necessary for the future of our community, WLIC commenced its redevelopment project plans in 2010, with the aim to provide enhanced facilities in education and youth recreation; library resources; marriage and funeral services; Da'wah services; fitness & crèche facilities; a public restaurant; bookshop and various other health, civic and social support services, which will be open to both Muslims and non-Muslims.
The new, self-sufficient, purpose-built Masjid and community centre will Insha’Allah be amongst the largest in London with a capacity to accommodate over 3,000 people, situated over six floors, totaling approximately 63,000 sq. ft. The estimated cost for this ambitious but essential project is £7M. Alhamdu’Lillah, since the projects inception a land purchase and planning application has been secured with the local authority and the community has struggled and worked hard to raise the necessary funds thus far.
